About This Multiplying Fractions — Multiplication
This free printable multiplying fractions worksheet builds multiplication fluency through repeated addition, arrays, and skip counting. Problems are grouped by fact family so students master a small set before moving on, reducing overwhelm and building lasting recall.
What Students Will Learn
Students learn that multiplication is repeated addition and how to use arrays and skip counting to find products. Regular practice of fact families builds the automatic recall needed for division, fractions, and multi-digit multiplication later on.
How Teachers Can Use This Worksheet
- Fact-family focus: Assign one or two rows at a time rather than the whole sheet, so students master a small set of facts before the next.
- Array art: Let students draw arrays for a few problems with dots or stickers — a visual bridge between addition and multiplication.
- Timed fluency: Use a short, low-pressure timer and chart individual improvement over the week; growth, not comparison, is the goal.
How Parents and Homeschoolers Can Use This Worksheet
Practice facts in the car or at dinner with quick "6 times 7?" games. Use LEGO bricks or egg cartons to show arrays so the idea becomes visual. Celebrate when your child beats their own previous time instead of comparing to others.
