👤🏃 Subjects & Predicates

👤🏃 Subject vs Predicate

👤
Subject
Who or what the sentence is about
"The dog runs fast."
🏃
Predicate
What the subject does or is
"The dog runs fast."

📖 Grammar Guide

Every complete sentence has two parts: the subject 👤 (who or what) and the predicate 🏃 (what they do). To find the subject, ask "Who?" or "What?" To find the predicate, ask "What about it?" Example: My mom (subject) cooks dinner every night (predicate). Hint: the subject usually comes first and is a noun; the predicate contains the verb.

⭕ Circle the Right Part

1. Circle the subject: The dog runs fast.
2. Circle the predicate: Birds sing in the morning.

📏 Draw a Line (Subject | Predicate)
